Quick-Build Implementation: San Jose Avenue, J Church Safety and Accessibility Project

Phase 2 Quick-Build Implementation, Intermittent Weekends April through August 2024 Dependent on Crew Availability

Much of the installation of the quick-build improvements has been completed on San Jose Avenue as part of the J Church Safety and Accessibility Project! The next step is for crews to paint the transit lanes red. To limit J Church service interruptions and due to crew availability, this work will happen overnight during intermittent weekends from April through August 2024.

Below is an overview of what to expect during the weekends of work.

  • Overview of the work by blocks along San Jose Avenue:
    • Cotter Street to Ocean Avenue
      • Painting the stenciled transit lane red
  • Traffic impacts:
    • Temporary impacts to parking aren’t expected but please watch for signs.
  • Overnight noise impacts:
    • The painting of the transit lanes is expected to be minimally noisy as crews will be working with paint and rollers.
  • Muni service impacts:
    • Muni service won’t be impacted during quick build implementation.
