Thank you for your interest in the Page Street Neighborway, a part of the Octavia Boulevard Enhancement Program. This email includes a quick status update as well as details for an upcoming public engagement opportunity.
After the SFMTA Board approved the associated parking changes in 2018, city staff have been working hard on the detailed construction drawings for four new landscaped rain gardens, two additional curb bulbouts, and a raised intersection at Page and Buchanan streets. The project is expected to reach the 65% design milestone in July 2019, with construction expected to occur in spring 2020. The project team is actively engaging with the Haight Street Art Center and students from John Muir Elementary School on contributing to decorative elements to the final proposal. Additional updates will be provided as more design information becomes available.
In conjunction with the Octavia 'Open Street' Project, we invite you to an open house on June 4th to review and discuss potential pilot circulation changes on and in the vicinity of Page Street to address ongoing safety and congestion issues. After holding off on approvals in 2018, the SFMTA is looking to engage with interested stakeholders one last time before updating the proposal and seeking approval and implementation later this year.
