SF Giants Home Opener

The 2019 baseball season is upon us and has already had a handful of surprises for fans as teams expected to falter have gotten off to strong starts while some of the perennial favorites are scuffling. The Giants began their season with a seven-game road trip to San Diego and Los Angeles, but return home this Friday to play the Tampa Bay Rays in a three-game interleague set that kicks off a 10-game homestand.
How to Get There on Muni: You can get to the game via the K Ingleside/T Third and N Judah lines, as well as by taking the 8 Bayshore, 10 Townsend, 30 Stockton, 45 Union/Stockton or the 47 Van Ness routes.
Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event, however, increased ridership to and from the ballpark is likely. Muni will provide additional N Judah service as well as shuttles to and from the ballpark for all home games this season.
15-Mile Coastal Walk
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Begins at Ferry Building
Enjoy the outdoors and the scenery San Francisco offers this Saturday during the 15-Mile Coastal Walk from the Ferry Building to the Zoo. Participants in this free event will assemble at the Ferry Building before heading into the Embarcadero Center, then north to the Levi's Plaza area. From there, the walk will proceed north to the Marina Green, Palace of Fine Arts, through the Presidio and to the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center. After a brief lunch break, the walk will continue through areas such as Baker Beach and the Lands End Trail to the Sutro Baths ruins before heading south along Ocean Beach to the Zoo.
How to Get There on Muni: Participants can take the F Market and Wharves Line, any Muni Metro Line, as well as the 1 California, 2 Clement, 5 Fulton, 6 Haight/Parnassus, 7 Haight/Noriega, 9 San Bruno, 14 Mission, 14R Mission Rapid, 21 Hayes, 31 Balboa, 38 Geary, or 38R Geary Rapid to near the Ferry Building.

Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon
Sunday, 6:15 a.m. start time
Start Line at Pier 35
What started in 1998 as the idea of a having marathon with live music playing along its course, the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series has spread across the country. Each year more athletes participate in its collective events than any other running series in the United States. The series has also raised hundreds of millions of dollars for participating charities over its history. Participants will begin at the starting line near Pier 35, then proceed west through the Wharves, the Marina, the Presidio and over the Golden Gate Bridge before returning to the finish line in Aquatic Park.
How to Get There on Muni: Participants can take the F Market and Wharves Line, California Cable Car Line, as well as the 8 Bayshore, 39 Coit, or the 47 Van Ness routes to near the starting line.
Muni Service Notes: The F Line, 19, 28, 39, and 47 routes will have reroutes. Minor delays are possible for coaches in the area of the race as it proceeds along its course and increased ridership may be possible before and after the race.
