John Keating is a Bay Area artist who was born in Philadelphia and has lived in San Francisco since 1974. He studied art atthe San Francisco Art Institute and the Academy of Art. Keating continues to create strong fluid character drawings from life as well as images of literary and famous figures from Hollywood and high society. He has created many works of his beloved San Francisco.
Keating’s art has been published in San Francisco Magazine, Segunda Vista by Random House and were the main feature of the salon at the Rex Hotel in San Francisco. He has shown at a variety of venues in San Francisco including Vesuvio’s Bar on Columbus Avenue and his large color drawing of Oscar Wilde hangs in McTeages on Polk Street.
