Super Bowl LIV Neighborhood Celebrations: February 2, 2020

In anticipation of street celebrations in the Mission District, Muni is prepared to reroute several routes. Several other Muni routes may experience delays in other neighborhoods. The San Francisco Police Department will be monitoring streets and make the decision to close them to automobiles. Read below for more information.

Anticipated Street Closures in the Mission

Starting at halftime, around 5:15 p.m., these streets may be closed at the direction of SFPD:

  • Mission, between Cesar Chavez and 21st St
  • 24th St, between Bartlett and Potrero Ave

Muni Reroutes

If SFPD closes streets, Muni will reroute in the Mission starting at 5 p.m. Service will return to normal once streets are clear.

Temporary Service Changes if Mission Street is Closed
Route Summary of Change
14 Mission
  • Reroute will be along South Van Ness between 16th St and Cesar Chavez.
  • Temporary stops along South Van Ness by request.
14R Mission Rapid
  • Reroute will be along South Van Ness between 16th St and Cesar Chavez.
  • Temporary stops along South Van Ness by request.
49 Mission/Van Ness
  • Reroute will be along South Van Ness between 16th St and Cesar Chavez.
  • Temporary stops along South Van Ness by request.

 

Temporary Service Changes if 24th Street is Closed
Route Summary of Change
12 Folsom/Pacific
  • Temporary layover at Valencia & 24th St, southwest corner
  • To Russian Hill, from the layover stop, reroute will go south on Valencia, east on Cesar Chavez, north on Folsom to the regular route.
  • To the Mission, reroute will follow Cesar Chavez west to Guerrero, east on 24th St, south on Valencia to the temporary layover stop.
48 Quintara/24th St
  • To Potrero Hill, reroute will be along 26th St, between Valencia and Potrero Ave
  • To West Portal, reroute will be along Cesar Chavez between Potrero Ave and Valencia
67 Bernal Heights
  • Temporary layover at Valencia & 24th St, southwest corner
  • To the Mission, reroute will follow Cesar Chavez west to Guerrero, east on 24th St, south on Valencia to the temporary layover stop.
  • To Bernal Heights, from the layover stop, reroute will go south on Valencia, east on Cesar Chavez, south on Folsom to the regular route.

Several other routes may experience delays in other neighborhoods.
