Project Update: Stop Sign and Muni Stop Adjustments in Noe Valley Approved at Public Hearing

Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback as part of the engineering public hearing meeting on September 6, 2024. We appreciate all of your comments and feedback, both during the meeting and over email.

The proposal was approved at public hearing and now will move forward to the SFMTA Board for their consideration for final approval this fall.

We heard several themes in the feedback we received, including support for the new all-way STOP sign at 28th and Church streets, as well as support and opposition for the transit stop changes, which will provide more even stop spacing.

At Church and 28th streets, the existing 2-way STOP sign is proposed to change to a 4-way STOP sign, to help reduce vehicle collisions and improve safety. The proposal would also adjust J Church stop spacing to better align with the new STOP sign and create more even spacing throughout the route.

By relocating the Clipper Street stops to 26th Street and relocating the 27th Street stops to 28th Street, the proposal aims to improve customer access and transit reliability along the corridor for J Church riders.
