CONSTRUCTION WORK AND OTHER UPDATES

UPDATED: Valencia Street Bikeway Improvements
Striping work is currently ongoing on Valencia Street as crews are working to install the new side-running bike lanes. There are temporary parking restrictions in place while striping is happening. People should pay attention to signs indicating where parking is prohibited.
Valencia Street between 16th and 17th streets will be closed overnight on Monday, April 21 and Tuesday, April 22. The street will be open and accessible during the day. Crews will remove the overhead lines that power Muni, which are no longer needed for Muni operations in the area. Removing the overhead lines will allow the Fire Department to use aerial ladders safely in case of a fire.
Detours will be in place for cars and the 22 Fillmore route during the overnight periods of this closure. People who typically load during nighttime hours on the street or park in driveways or garages on Valencia between 16th and 17th streets should make alternate plans for those two nights.
