On Tuesday, May 6, the SFMTA Board of Directors will vote on a proposed terminal relocation for the 15 Bayview Hunter’s Point Express. The proposed change would move the terminal from Palou Avenue to the intersection of Newhall and Hudson streets.
This relocation is designed to improve both reliability and safety. The current terminal on Palou Avenue is often blocked by private vehicles, leading to delays and service disruptions. The proposed location provides more space for buses and is near an operator restroom, allowing for timely breaks and on-time departures. This change enhances service reliability and supports operator wellbeing.
To accommodate the new terminal, five parking spaces would be removed at Newhall and Hudson streets. However, four new parking spaces would be added at Palou Avenue. Since the existing bus terminal on Newhall Street already serves the 54 Felton, no other major changes will occur.
The proposed change would not affect the 15 Bayview Hunter’s Point Express route.
