Hello from the Sloat Boulevard Quick-Build project team!
Thanks for your continued interest in this project. We’re pleased to share several updates about the project ahead of our scheduled public hearing on June 16th.
Virtual Open House
Thanks to those who participated in the virtual open house for this project last month. We received 70 written comments through the open house’s embedded survey. Here are the key takeaways from the responses received (read the full summary of responses here):
-
Respondents generally supported the project. 72% of project-related comments were in support of the project.
-
People were concerned about safety on Sloat Boulevard. These concerns align with the project’s focus on improving safety for all modes on the corridor.
-
People were concerned about vehicle traffic congestion on Sloat Boulevard. For those with these concerns, we would like to emphasize that the project will not reduce the number of travel lanes on Sloat Boulevard.
-
Participants shared concerns about specific locations on Sloat Boulevard. Some comments noted specific concerns or requests about the way the project is designed, which SFMTA staff will evaluate in the detail design phase.
For those who missed the open house, the project information is still available online here!
June 16th Public Hearing
The project team will be soliciting additional feedback on the project at an Engineering Public Hearing on June 16th at 10am. This is another opportunity to formally provide your opinions on the proposed changes on Sloat Boulevard. If you can't make this time or would prefer to write, you may also submit your comments by email to Sustainable.Streets@SFMTA.com with the subject line “Public Hearing.”
We thank everyone for their engagement thus far. Stay tuned for another update after the public hearing and reach out to SloatQB@sfmta.com to speak with us directly.
