Another busy and events filled weekend is close at hand. The last full weekend of spring gets started on Friday as the Giants return to AT&T Park for a five game home stand against the Arizona Diamondbacks and Seattle Mariners. If you'd prefer a leisurely stroll, then venture into one of the city’s more iconic neighborhoods for the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair, or travel along the Great Highway and through Golden Gate Park for Sunday Streets.

Be sure to stop by North Beach and the Fillmore for these perennial favorites:

North Beach Festival

Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

North Beach

The North Beach Festival, now in its 61st year, is considered on of the country's original outdoor festivals. This year’s festival will have more than 100 arts and craft booths, 20 gourmet food booths, and multiple entertainment stages. There will also be a kids’ chalk art area, and a special blessing of the animals at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi.

Due to street closures and the expected large crowds, public transportation may be your best option. Service on the 8 Bayshore, 30 Stockton, 39 Coit and 45 Union/Stockton routes will get you to close to the festivities.

Muni service note: The 8 Bayshore will have a re-route, while the 30 Stockton, 39 Coit and 45 Union/Stockton may see residual delays due to increased ridership.

Juneteenth

Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Fillmore Street between Post and Turk streets

This year marks the 150th anniversary since the abolition of slavery was announced in the state of Texas on June 19, 1865. San Francisco's Juneteenth festivities will include a parade, classic car and motorcycle show, health fair, and much more. Plus, there will be a petting zoo and pony rides for the kids.

Due to street closures and the expected large crowds, take advantage of Muni service courtesy of the 5 Fulton, 22 Fillmore, 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid to get you to the celebration.

Muni service note: the 22 Fillmore, 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid will have re-routes.
