Dear Taxi Industry,
We are writing to let you know about some staffing changes in the Taxis, Access & Mobility Services (TAMS) Division:
Carlo Mapa, Senior Operations and Administration Management Assistant
In order to provide more support to the important operational and administrative functions handled by the taxi customer service team, Carlo Mapa has joined TAMS as the Senior Operations and Administration Management Assistant. Carlo joins TAMS from the SFMTA’s Streets Division, the Temporary Signs section, where he served for 6 years as the office manager.
Danny Yeung, Acting Mobility Services Permits Manager
Danny has been the acting Permits Manager for TAMS since Sarah Hellman stepped away last year in July 2022. Danny expertly juggles many roles, along with the Permits Manager role, he maintains his leadership of the Budget and Analytics team within TAMS, Mobility Planning and Operations. Under Danny’s leadership, the Analytics team has developed multiple technological improvements, including transition the annual sworn statement administrative process to an on-line system, developing dashboards and analytics for the Taxi Upfront Fare Pilot and integrating 311 complaints with SFMTA’s management system for more efficient tracking and process.
Erin McAuliff, Acting Director of Accessible Services
As many of you know, our dear colleague Annette Williams, Director of Accessible Services, retired at the end of June. Her remarkable 35+ year career with the SFMTA has impacted the lives of countless people in San Francisco and around the world. The impact of her work, especially on the lives of seniors and people with disabilities, is astounding when viewed in its totality. We are all wishing her a very happy retirement and are hopeful she can return to TAMS in some capacity in the future.
We are pleased to announce that Erin McAuliff will serve as Acting Director of Accessible Services. Erin joined the Accessible Services team five years ago and over that time has worked closely alongside Annette as Principal Access Planner. Erin is a smart, dynamic and talented leader. She has led many successful initiatives in her career at the SFMTA, including the launch of the Essential Trip Card program and securing $4M from the CPUC to support accessible on-demand transportation.
Jason Herschel, Senior Data Consultant
As the work of the division incorporates more data analysis and reporting, Danny Yeung has built out the data analytics team. Jason is the newest addition to the data team at TAMS, and he joined in May. Jason is working on dashboards for the Taxi Upfront Fare Pilot among other key projects.
Steven Garcia, Customer Service Clerk Trainee
Steven joined the TAMS team in December 2022 and provides outstanding customer service at the front window. He has been an excellent addition to the customer service team and a quick study. Steven spent eight and half years serving in the United States Navy with a background in shipboard engineering and spent some time as a canvassing recruiter while stationed just outside of Austin, TX.
