Hot Chocolate Run 5K & 15K Race: Sunday, January 11, 2026

Event Summary

The Hot Chocolate 5K & 15K Race will be held this Sunday, January 11. The races start inside Golden Gate Park, proceed along the Great Highway and end back inside the park. The first race starts at 7:20 a.m. Streets will be closed for the race and Muni will reroute the 18 and 44 routes until streets are clear.

Street Closures

The following streets will be closed for various durations of the day:

From 3 to 9:30 a.m.:

• Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive between Music Concourse and Crossover Drive

From 6 to 9 a.m.:

• Blue Heron Lake Drive

From 6 to 10 a.m.:

• Middle Drive between Transverse and MLK

From 6 to 11 a.m.:

• MLK between Sunset and Lincoln Way
• Bernice Rodgers Way between MLK and JFK

From 6 to 11:15 a.m.:

• Chain of Lakes Drive between JFK and MLK

From 6 to 11:30 a.m.:

• Transverse between MLK and Crossover
• JFK Drive and the JFK Promenade between Bernice Rodgers Way and 8th Avenue

From 7 to 10:30 a.m.:

• Lincoln Way between La Playa and Great Highway

From 7 to 11 a.m.:

• Sunset Dunes between Lincoln Way and Sloat

Muni Service Changes

These stops will be temporarily missed from start of service until the race clears, at approximately 12 p.m. (noon).
