The SFMTA Board of Directors provides policy oversight for the safe and efficient transportation of goods and service in San Francisco. This includes the San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni), automobiles and trucks, taxis, bicycling and walking. The SFMTA Board of Directors also serves as members of the San Francisco Parking Authority.
Our board of directors meetings are usually held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The agenda includes presentation and discussion on Vision Zero High Injury Network and policy for QuickBuild Vision Zero projects.
Powered Scooter Sharing Community Discussion

The SFMTA will host a community discussion, addressing the key areas of safety, disabled access, equity, distribution of scooters and outreach. The permitted scooter sharing companies made specific commitments about their plans in each of these areas that correspond to our Emerging Mobility Guiding Principles. We will ask the public to participate in small group discussions about how the SFMTA can ensure that the scooter share permit program in keeping with our city’s values.
5th Street Improvement Project - Open House

Since the last project open house, the project team developed a preferred design utilizing the community’s feedback. Please stop by our upcoming open house to provide your input on the design for a safer, more livable 5th Street for all. The proposed design will include protected bike lanes, pedestrian upgrades, widened sidewalks, parking and loading changes, and reduced travel lanes from four to three on some blocks of 5th Street.
Mission Street Excelsior Safety Project - Open House

Working together with the community, the SFMTA has developed a plan to improve pedestrian safety, Muni reliability, and the business district on Mission Street and Geneva Avenue in the Excelsior. Please join us at a community Open House to review the plan and let us know what you think!
Central Richmond Traffic Safety Project - Open House

The Central Richmond Traffic Safety Project Open House is being hosted in partnership with District 1 Supervisor Sandra Fewer. The Open House will present final project proposals based on community feedback gathered at the January Town Hall meeting and engineering analysis. Additionally this Open House will provide the community with information on other traffic safety measures in the Central Richmond.
