In case you missed it, Ch. 5's Joe Vazquez shared a story of heroism last night that featured one of our own Cable Car Gripmen, Jessie Beronilla.

The scene was the frigid waters just north of Ghirardelli Square. Jessie was in the water on Sunday, Sept. 13 as the competitors of the South End Rowing Club's Alcatraz Invitational were headed toward shore. All of a sudden, Jessie spotted one of the swimmers floating facedown in the water. He sprung into action. His quick response got the National Park Service lifeguards on the scene, saving the life of Graham Barker of Colorado.

Congratulations to Jessie for a job well done on Sunday and every day on our streets.
