We’re pleased to share details about our upcoming two-week project Open House.
Project Introduction
The Oak Street Quick-Build Project aims to improve safety for people walking, bicycling and driving on Oak Street (between Stanyan Street and Baker Street) and JFK Drive (between Kezar Drive and Stanyan Street) and provide a new connection between Golden Gate Park and the Wiggle bike route. The proposed changes include:
- New physically-protected eastbound bikeway on the north side of Oak Street by converting a vehicle travel lane.
- Safer pedestrian crossings between the Haight and the Panhandle, including shorter crossings and improved visibility.
- Formalized bikeway and traffic lane layout between the JFK Promenade and Stanyan Street.
