Inter-County Paratransit
Several paratransit operators in the Bay Area provide service between counties neighboring San Francisco.
- SF Paratransit provides some direct inter-county paratransit service to Daly City, in northern San Mateo County.

As part of the Bay Area’s Regional Eligibility Database (RED) program, ADA-paratransit eligible customers in one county may use paratransit services in any of the other Bay Area counties.
The Bay Area Partnership Accessibility Committee
The SFMTA represents SF Paratransit in the Bay Area Partnership Accessibility Committee (BAPAC), a regional paratransit group administered by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC).
This committee works to improve operational procedures and the paratransit experience throughout the Bay Area. The committee recently increased eligibility terms from three to five years for paratransit customers across the Bay Area.
Visiting Paratransit Users
Visitors from outside the Bay Area may use SF Access services, as well as paratransit services throughout the Bay Area.
To arrange for service while in San Francisco, visitors must contact SF Paratransit and present information about their use of ADA paratransit service in their home area. Visitors without this information may be asked to describe their inability to access ordinary bus or train service due to their disability, as well as information about where they reside.
Visitors approved to use SF Access can use the service for 21 separate days in a 12-month period, regardless of when in the year they are approved. If a visitor needs more than 21 days of paratransit service, they will need to apply for Bay Area ADA paratransit eligibility.
