The Hyde Street Quick-Build Project restarted construction this week!
Work completed week of 11/27:
Paint crew grinded out existing lanes lines to prepare for new striping.
Upcoming work:
Upcoming work will include painting new striping, adding new signage and flex posts, and parking and meter work.
This work will include temporary tow-away signage the week of December 4 on the west side of Hyde between Eddy and Golden Gate to provide adequate space for staff to paint new lane lines. Tow-away signs will be posted at least 24 hours in advance of this work beginning. Outreach staff will also plan to canvass along the affected areas to notify the public ahead of time.
Construction is now anticipated to be completed in early December 2023. Please note that this timeline may change due to staff capacity, material purchasing issues, and weather.
What to expect during construction?
- Construction typically occurs between the hours of 9 am and 12 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Pedestrian pathways and access to driveways and commercial/residential buildings will be maintained at all times. Existing transit stops will also be accessible during construction.
- At times, there may be temporary lane closures as crews perform work (i.e., removing and adding roadway and curb color paint, installing plastic safe-hit posts and signs), resulting in possible travel delays. Please incorporate extra travel time to your trips during construction.
- Traffic will be routed around construction activity as necessary but will not be detoured.
We will be posting construction updates on our project page as needed. For more information, please visit SFMTA.com/HydeQuickBuild
