Bus Route & Stop Changes Effective January 7, 2023
Effective Saturday, January 7, 2023, Muni will implement several minor route and stop changes on multiple bus routes around the city. Continue reading below for detailed information on all upcoming changes.

T Third Street Bus Route Change
The T Third Street Bus will be rerouted to reflect the changes to the T Third Street Line upon the opening of the Central Subway. The T Bus will no longer operate on the Embarcadero or Market Street, but will instead be routed to Chinatown via 3rd and 4th streets in SoMa and Stockton Street north of Market.

12 Folsom/Pacific and 36 Teresita
Effective January 7, there will be stop changes to the 12 Folsom/Pacific and 36 Teresita routes in the vicinity of their respective terminal locations near Cesar Chavez Street. These changes were made to improve operator restroom access.

15 Bayview Hunters Point Express & 54 Felton Stop Name Change
The stop at Kirkwood Ave. & Dormitory Rd will be renamed to Kiska Rd & Dormitory Rd to reflect current street names where the stop is located.

19 Polk Stop Relocations on Evans Avenue
As part of the Evans Avenue "Quick Build" project, three bus stops for the 19 Polk were temporarily relocated in the Fall of 2022. Those relocations will be made permanent effective January 7, 2023.

21 Hayes Route Extension
The 21 Hayes will be extended to Fulton St & 8th Ave on weekday evenings (after 7 p.m.) and all day on weekends. This change will increase rider access to Golden Gate Park. A new inbound stop will be added at Fulton & 8th (southeast corner) during the hours of the route extension. There will be no added stops between Fulton & Stanyan and Fulton & 8th Avenue.

23 Monterey Route, Terminal & Stop Changes
The 23 Monterey terminal located on the Upper Great Highway parking lot will be discontinued. This change is due to sand routinely blocking the parking lot, as well as cars often parking in the bus zone, preventing buses from looping through the terminal. The new terminal will be located on Sloat Boulevard at 47th Avenue, requiring a slight route change and a stop relocation.

27 Bryant Northern Terminal Change
The northern terminal for the 27 Bryant will be relocated from Jackson & Van Ness to Pacific & Van Ness. This change is being done to help alleviate congestion on Jackson at Van Ness.

29 Sunset Stop Name Change
The inbound 29 Sunset stop at Gilman Avenue and Giants Drive will be renamed to Gilman Avenue & Bill Walsh Way to reflect current street names at the stop location.

44 O'Shaughnessy Stop Removal
The 44 O'Shaughnessy will no longer serve the outbound stop on Woodside Ave & Portola Dr in order to reduce the time delay on the 44 as part of the Transit Delay Hot Spots program. The outbound 36 Teresita and 52 Excelsior will continue to service the stop. Riders should board the 44 on O'Shaughnessy Blvd & Portola Dr (across Portola Drive, on the southwest corner).

48 Quintara/24th Street Stop Relocation
The outbound stop for the 48 Quintara/24th Street at Ulloa St. & Lenox Way will be relocated to the end of the block at Ulloa & Wawona. The L Taraval Bus and L Owl will still service the stop at Ulloa & Lenox Way.
