L Taraval Improvement Project Work Forecast August 22 - September 4, 2020

• Water main connection is planned for Tuesday, August 25 between 42nd and 40th Avenue (southside) at 10:00 p.m.
• Lower Great Highway between Taraval and Santiago Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25 for material delivery. This work should last for approximately one to two hours.
• Sewer main connection crossing work is planned for the weeks of:
  • August 25 between 45th and 44th Avenue (southside)
  • August 22 and August 24-28 between 46th and 45th Avenue (southside)
  • August 22 and August 24-26 between 43rd and 42nd Avenue (southside)
  • August 31-September 4 between 42nd and 41st Avenue (southside)
  • Starting September 2 between 41st and 40th Avenue (southside)
  • Starting September 4 between 40th and 39th Avenue (southside)
• Continuation of waterline work is planned for:
  • August 24 between 46th and 45th Avenue (southside)
  • August 31-September 4 between 45th and 43rd Avenue (southside)
  • August 22 and 24-28 between 39th and 38th Avenue (southside)
  • August 22 and 24-28 between 37th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard (southside)
• Continuation of sidewalk curb ramp work is planned for:
  • August 24-25 between 40th and 39th Avenue (southside)
  • August 26-28 and August 31-September 4 between 43rd and 42nd Avenue (southside)
  • August 24-25 between 42nd and 41st Avenue (southside)
  • August 26-28 and August 31-September 4 between 41st and 40th Avenue (southside)
  • August 24-25 between 39th and 38th Avenue (southside)
• Construction of replacement Muni overhead contact system (OCS) pole's foundation is planned of: 
  • Starting September 3 between 39th and 38th Avenue (northside)
  • August 31-September 2 between 38th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard (northside)
  • September 1-2 between 39th and 38th Avenue (southside)
  • August 31-September 4 between 37th and 36th Avenue (southside)
• Removal of existing Muni overhead contact system (OCS) is planned for:
  • August 27-28 at 46th Avenue and Vicente Street
  • August 31-September 2 at 47th Avenue and Vicente Street
  • Starting September 3 at 46th Avenue and Wawona Street
• Transfer of existing overhead wires to temporary wooden poles is planned for:
  • August 24 at 46th Avenue & Vicente Street and 47th Avenue & Wawona Street
• Replacement of existing guy span wires is planned for:
  • August 24-26 on 46th Avenue between Taraval and Wawona Street 
  • August 24-26 on 47th Avenue between Vicente and Wawona Street 
  • August 24-26 on Vicente and Wawona Street between 46th and 47th Avenue

Excavation requires jackhammering of the pavement. Dust control measures will be in place to prevent dust kick up from the work.

Heavy vibrations from the shoring and sheet piling work is expected for open trench work.

Water main connection between 42nd and 40th Avenue (southside) will require temporary interruption to service on Tuesday, August 25 starting at 10:00 p.m.

• Northside of Taraval Street between 39th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard
• Southside of Taraval Street between 46th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard
• Both sides of 46th Avenue between Taraval and Wawona Street, 47th Avenue between Vicente and Wawona Street, and on both Vicente and Wawona Street between 46th and 47th Avenue
• Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday to Sunday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.

Some parking will be temporarily restricted in construction zones and traffic lanes will be modified during active work.
