Dia de Los Muertos Procession: Saturday, November 2, 2024

Event Summary

The annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) procession will take place on Saturday, November 2, with this year's event featuring two different processions in the Mission District. The first procession will start at 7 p.m. and the second procession will start at 8 pm. 

Procession Routes & Street Closures

The first procession formation will begin staging at approximately 6 p.m. on Bryant, between 19th and 22nd streets. The following street closures will be in effect:

• Bryant from 19th to 24th
• 24th from Bryant to Mission
• Mission from 24th to 22nd
• 22nd from Mission to Bryant

The first procession will begin at 7 p.m. and follow this route from Bryant & 22nd:

• South on Bryant
• West onto 24th
• North onto Mission
• East onto 22nd
• Ending at Bryant & 22nd

The second procession formation will begin staging at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Bryant, between 19th and 22nd streets. The following street closures will be in effect:

• York from 24th to 25th
• 24th from York to Mission
• Mission from 24th to 25th
• 25th from Mission to Capp
• Capp from 25th to 24th

The second procession will begin at 8 p.m. and follow this route from York & 24th:

• South on York
• West onto 24th
• South onto Mission
• East onto 25th
• North onto Capp
• East on 24th
• Ending at York & 24th

Muni Service Changes

Muni will reroute the 12, 14, 14R, 27, 48, 49 and 67 routes from 6:45 p.m. until streets are clear.
