Go West! Over Hill and Dale Bike Tour
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Various Locations
The Over Hill and Dale Bike Tour will take cyclists to at least a half-dozen branch libraries where portions of a 1938 scale model of the city will be on display. The 140-piece model, in storage for decades, is on display around the city in sections. This Saturday, join the tour kicking off from the Eureka Valley Branch Library as it bikes around the city to visit a selection of other branches and their respective model sections. The entire scale model is a detailed wooden replica of San Francisco at a scale of 1 inch:100 feet that was built by the WPA (Works Progress Administration) and originally displayed during the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island in 1939.
How to Get There on Muni: If you aren't planning to bike to the Eureka Valley Branch, then you may also take the K Ingleside, L Taraval or M Ocean View lines to the Castro Station stop as well as the 22 Fillmore, 24 Divisadero, 35 Eureka or the 37 Corbett routes to near the Eureka Valley Branch.
Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event.
San Francisco Zoo Valentine's Day Champagne Stroll
Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
SF Zoo
Share a cocktail with someone special while learning about courtship and mating facts of various animals during a self-guided tour around the San Francisco Zoo during this weekend's Valentine's Day Champagne Stroll. Free with paid Zoo admission, adults age 21 and older can enjoy a drink (and there are non-alcoholic beverages for the kids!) while reading up on interesting facts about animal courtship rituals ranging from lions to penguins that will be posted on heart-shaped signs throughout the Zoo.
How to Get There on Muni: Riders may take the L Taraval Line, 18 46th Avenue, 23 Monterey, or the 57 Parkmerced routes to near the zoo.
Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event.
Remember that you can take Muni for the entire day for a single $5 fare. The new $5 Day Pass, available on MuniMobile®, is part of Muni’s recent fare changes. The pass is intended to encourage a safe, convenient way to pay your fare and quickly board Muni vehicles, which reduces overall travel time for everyone. The $5 Day Pass is Muni bus, rail and historic streetcars only.
“On Tap” gives you a heads up about the big events in town and what Muni routes and lines will get you to the party. Look for this feature to be posted usually on Thursdays for a look ahead to the weekend. Check out our Weekend Traffic & Transit Advisory for more details.
