Event Summary

The Hot Chocolate 5K & 15K Race will be held this Sunday, January 12. The races start inside Golden Gate Park, proceed along the Great Highway and end back inside the park. The first race starts at 7:20 a.m. Streets will be closed for the race and Muni will reroute the 18 and 44 routes until streets are clear.

Street Closures

The following streets will be closed for various durations of the day:

From 3 to 9:30 a.m.:

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive between Hagiwara Tea Garden and Crossover Drive
  • Stow Lake between MLK and JFK

From 6 to 10 a.m.:

  • Middle Drive between Transverse and MLK

From 6 to 11 a.m.:

  • MLK between Sunset and Lincoln Way
  • Great Highway between Lincoln Way and Sloat
  • Bernice Rodgers Way between MLK and JFK

From 6 to 11:15 a.m.:

  • Chain of Lakes Drive between JFK and MLK

From 6 to 11:30 a.m.:

  • Transverse between MLK and Crossover
  • JFK between Bernice Rodgers Way and Transverse

From 8 to 11 a.m.:

  • Lincoln Way between La Playa and Great Highway
