The SFMTA’s AV Policy team works with industry, regulators and internal and external city agencies and stakeholders to advance AV deployment in San Francisco that aligns with SFMTA goals. Our work includes:
- Monitoring AV testing and deployment on San Francisco streets, including tracking and troubleshooting solutions to incidents involving AVs
- Collaborating with industry, research organizations and government agencies to shape the future of AV deployment in cities
- Advocating for state and federal AV legislation and regulations that prioritize safety, transparency, and other city priorities
