Van Ness Construction Forecast: February 5-17, 2017

The following Van Ness Improvement Project construction forecast is subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen conditions. For more project details, please visit sfmta.com/vanness.

Sunday, February 5: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Sunday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from McAllister to Eddy streets.

Traffic Advisory: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Sunday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, some traffic lanes may be closed for construction activity.

Monday, February 6: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Hayes to Sutter and California to Union streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Monday and 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, work will occur in the median on Van Ness from McAllister to Golden Gate. Also during these hours, the Overhead Contact System that powers the buses will be removed on Van Ness from McAllister to Eddy and Sutter to Bush streets.

Traffic Advisory: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Monday and 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, some traffic lanes may be closed for construction activity.

Tuesday, February 7: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Hayes to Sutter and California to Union streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, work will occur in the median on Van Ness from McAllister to Golden Gate. Also during these hours, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from Sutter to Bush streets. The existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Traffic Advisory: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, some traffic lanes may be closed for construction activity.

Wednesday, February 8: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Hayes to Sutter, California to Washington, Jackson to Broadway, and Vallejo to Green streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and 5:00 a.m. Thursday, the roadway on Van Ness northbound at Hayes will be repainted. Also during these hours, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from Sutter to California streets. The existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Traffic Advisory: The number of traffic lanes on Van Ness will be reduced from three to two northbound from Market to Hayes streets. Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and 5:00 a.m. Thursday, additional traffic lanes may be closed for construction activity.

Thursday, February 9: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Fell to Sutter, California to Washington, Jackson to Broadway, and Vallejo to Green streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Thursday and 5:00 a.m. Friday, the roadway on Van Ness southbound at Mission and northbound at Lombard will be repainted. Also during these hours, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from Sutter to California streets. The existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Traffic Advisory: The number of traffic lanes on Van Ness will be reduced from three to two southbound from Mission to Hayes streets and in both directions from Filbert to Lombard streets. Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Thursday and 5:00 a.m. Friday, additional traffic lanes may be closed for construction activity.

Friday, February 10: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Fell to Sutter, Pine to Clay, Jackson to Broadway, and Filbert to Greenwich streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. Saturday, the existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Traffic Advisory: The number of traffic lanes on Van Ness will be reduced from three to two northbound from Mission to Market streets.

Saturday, February 11: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. Saturday, the existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Sunday, February 12: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Sunday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from California to Sacramento streets. The existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Monday, February 13: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Mission to Sutter, Bush to Clay, Jackson to Pacific, and Filbert to Lombard streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Monday and 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Mission to Market streets. Also during these hours, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from California to Sacramento streets. The existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Tuesday, February 14: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Mission to Sutter, Bush to Sacramento, and Filbert to Lombard streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Sacramento near Van Ness. The existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Wednesday, February 15: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Mission to Sutter, Bush to California, and Filbert to Lombard streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and 5:00 a.m. Thursday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Clay near Van Ness. The existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Thursday, February 16: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Mission to Sutter, Bush to California, and Filbert to Lombard streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Thursday and 5:00 a.m. Friday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from California to Clay streets. The existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Friday, February 17: Work will occur in the median on Van Ness from Mission to California and Filbert to Lombard streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. Saturday, the existing bus stop on Van Ness & Sutter will be temporarily relocated from the far side north to the far side of Van Ness & Fern.

Those who travel in and through the area are advised to take alternate routes and plan for delays.
