Van Ness Construction Forecast: December 17 - December 29, 2017

The following Van Ness Improvement Project construction forecast is subject to change. For more project details, please visit sfmta.com/vanness.

Tentative Schedule:

Sunday, December 17: Between the hours of 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. crews will work on updating the emergency firefighting water systems from Golden Gate to Post streets. Additionally, crews will pothole for future utility construction from Grove to Eddy streets. Neighbors are advised to anticipate construction-related noise, including grinding, as crews work diligently to complete this necessary night work.

Monday, December 18 through Thursday, December 21: Crews will be working on the joint trench to power overhead wires for buses from McAllister to Turk and potholing to investigate sub-sidewalk basements from Fell to Broadway. The northbound bus stop at Union Street will shift to the northern corner of Van Ness to a temporary bus platform.

Between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. crews will work on updating the emergency firefighting water systems from Golden Gate to Post. Additionally, crews will pothole for future utility construction from Grove to Eddy streets. Neighbors are advised to anticipate construction-related noise, including grinding, as crews work diligently to complete this necessary night work. 

Friday, December 22: Crews will be working on the joint trench to power overhead wires for buses from McAllister to Turk and potholing to investigate sub-sidewalk basements from Fell to Broadway.

Monday, December 25: In observance of the holiday, no work is scheduled. 

Tuesday December 26 through Thursday, December 29: Crews will be working on the joint trench to power overhead wires for buses from McAllister to Turk.

Basement Assessments

Before utility, roadway and sidewalk work begins, the Van Ness Improvement Project team is inspecting Van Ness Avenue basements that may extend below sidewalks.
