Van Ness Avenue Construction Forecast: January 28 - February 8, 2019

The following Van Ness Improvement Project construction forecast is subject to change. For more project details, please visit SFMTA.com/VanNess.

All night work is italicized below. The night shift for construction is scheduled between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. During this time, neighbors are advised to anticipate construction-related noise and vibrations as crews work diligently to complete necessary night work.

Tentative schedule:

In the next two weeks crews are scheduled to work on sewer and water main installation, sidewalk replacement, installing a joint utility trench and street light conduits, and potholing for upcoming work.

Monday through Friday, January 28 through February 1

  • Francisco to Chestnut. Night work is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. 
  • Chestnut to Lombard. Night work is also scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. 
  • Lombard to Greenwich. Night work is also scheduled Monday and Tuesday, January 28 and 29, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Intensive night noise and vibration is expected.
  • Greenwich to Filbert. Night work is scheduled Monday and Tuesday, January 28 and 29, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Filbert to Union. Night work is scheduled Monday and Tuesday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Union to Green. Night work is also scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Green to Vallejo. Night work is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. 
  • Vallejo to Broadway. Night work is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Broadway to Pacific. Night work is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Pacific to Jackson. Night work is scheduled Monday and Tuesday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Clay to Sacramento. 
  • Sacramento to California. 
  • California to Pine. (Monday through Wednesday only)
  • Pine to Bush. (Monday through Wednesday only)
  • Bush to Sutter. 
  • Geary to O'Farrell. Note: Access to Myrtle street from the west side of Van Ness will be limited due to construction. 
  • Ellis to Eddy.
  • McAllister to Grove. (Thursday and Friday only) 
  • Grove to Hayes. (Wednesday through Friday only)
  • Hayes to Fell. 
  • Fell to Market.
  • Market to Mission. Night work is scheduled Tuesday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Disruptive noise is expected. 

Monday through Friday, February 4 through February 8

  • Chestnut to Lombard. Night work is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Lombard to Greenwich. (Thursday and Friday only) Night work is also scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Greenwich to Filbert. Night work is also scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Filbert to Union. Night work is also scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Union to Green. Night work is also scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Green to Vallejo.
  • Vallejo to Broadway. 
  • Jackson to Washington. (Monday and Tuesday only)
  • Washington to Clay.
  • Clay to Sacramento. (Wednesday through Friday only)
  • Sacramento to California. (Wednesday through Friday only)
  • California to Pine. (Wednesday through Friday only)

  • Sutter to Post. Night work is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Intensive noise and vibration is expected. 
  • Geary to O'Farrell. (Monday through Thursday only.) 
  • Ellis to Eddy.
  • Grove to Hayes. 
  • Hayes to Fell. 
  • Fell to Market. Night work is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Intensive noise and vibration is expected. 
  • Market to Mission.
