2022 Muni Service Network Changes

We are working to build back our ridership by providing high-quality, reliable service that people can count on. To make schedules more reliable and reduce wait times and crowding, we are working to schedule service that reflects available operator staffing. This means we are only scheduling service we know we have the staff to cover.

The following table will detail those routes being returned to service and/or modified as part of our 2022 Muni Service Network plan.

Please consult the route maps below the table that provide further information regarding specific route changes.

L Bus Route to West Portal

Three temporary L Taraval bus stops in the Twin Peaks area, between West Portal Station and Castro Station, will no longer be served by the L Taraval Bus as of July 9: O’Shaughnessy, Clipper and Clayton. These stops are not historically served by the L Taraval. They were temporarily added when the L Taraval Metro was diverted to bus service to accommodate the L Taraval Improvement Project construction. The remainder of the L Taraval Improvement Project is expected to finish by Fall 2024. At that time, we plan to bring the L Taraval Metro back into service.

Customers can use the following routes that also serve the Twin Peaks area between West Portal/Forest Hill and Castro/downtown:
