The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place in Union Square at 6 p.m. Muni will substitute cable cars with buses in that area and buses will reroute around the event. Read below for more details.
Muni Reroutes
Muni bus substitutions and reroutes will begin at 2:30 p.m. Service will return to normal after streets are clear.

| 38 Geary | Reroute will be in the outbound direction (to The Richmond) only. From Market & Geary, the reroute will continue on Market, then Turk, Taylor and Geary to the regular route. |
| 38R Geary Rapid | Reroute will be in the outbound direction (to The Richmond) only. From Market & Geary, the reroute will continue on Market, then Turk, Taylor and Geary to the regular route. |
| Powell Cable Cars | A bus will provide service between the Cyril Magnin St and the Hyde and Mason lines at Powell & Jackson. |
