L Taraval Improvement Project Work Forecast May 17 to May 28, 2021

• L Bus serves regular stops: As we are wrapping up the major infrastructure improvements on Taraval Street, the L bus is now serving the regular stops between Embarcadero and the SF Zoo. Starting Saturday, May 15, all subway stations will reopen for the N Judah and KT Ingleside Third train service, the L customers will have an option of transferring between L bus and KT train at West Portal station. The L bus will not serve Forest Hill Station anymore. Transfer to 44 O’Shaughnessy to access that station.

• Reduced Staging Area: The SFMTA's contractor is hard at work cleaning up and reorganizing the staging area on the Lower Great Highway. To minimize the inconvenience for the neighbors and drivers, we will shrink the footprint and open one block between Santiago and Taraval streets on May 28.
   
• Streetscape and landscape work is taking place with minimum impact until this summer on Taraval:
   
• Finishing the cobble installation on the trackway is planned for:
  
  • May 17 between 46th and 48th avenues
     
• Crosswalk stripping is planned for:
  
  • May 18-21 between 46th and 48th avenues
     
• Removing traffic control and opening the roadway is planned for:
  
  • May 21 between 46th and 48th avenues
     
• Working on drainage and planting trees is planned for:
  
  • May 17-28 between Sunset Boulevard and 46th Avenue on both side of Taraval Street
     
• Installing pavers at remaining four planter islands is planned for:  
  
  • May 17 between 37th and 41st avenues
     
• Sealing the gap in the back of curbs and sidewalks is planned for:

May 24-28 between Sunset Boulevard and 46th Avenue on both sides of Taraval Street

Noise and dust control measures will be in place to prevent disturbances from the work.

Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday to Sunday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Hours subject to change based on construction needs. 

Some parking will be temporarily restricted in construction zones and traffic lanes will be modified during active work.
