L Taraval Improvement Project Work Forecast June 29 - July 10, 2020

Work Forecast Plan for the Weeks of June 29 to July 10, 2020

Details of Work Performed:
  • Lower Great Highway between Ulloa and Santiago Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays beginning Monday, July 13, for track rail welding. This work should last for approximately one week.
  • Continuation of sewer main replacement is planned for the weeks of:
    • June 30 between 40th to 39th Avenue (northside)
    • June 29-July 2 and July 6 between 44th and 42nd Avenue (southside)
    • July 6-10 between 41st and 40th Avenue (southside)
    • Starting July 10 between 40th and 39th Avenue (southside)
  • Excavation of small exploratory holes to verify the locations of existing underground utilities is planned for:
    • June 29 between 48th and 46th Avenue (northside) 
    • June 29 between 48th and 46th Avenue (southside)
    • July 6-7 between 40th and 37th Avenue (southside)
  • Continuation of sidewalk curb ramp work is planned for:
    • June 29-July 1 between 39th and 38th Avenue (northside)
    • June 29-July 1 between 37th and 36th Avenue (northside) 
    • Starting July 2 between 45th and 42nd Avenue (southside)
  • Electrical conduit work for traffic signal, streetlights, and etc. is planned for:
    • June 29-July 1 between 42nd and 41st Avenue (southside)
    • July 8-10 between 40th and 39th Avenue (southside)
    • June 29-July 2 and July 6 between 39th and 38th Avenue (southside)
    • July 6-8 between 38th and 37th Avenue (southside)
What to Expect:

Excavation requires jackhammering of the pavement. Dust control measures will be in place to prevent dust kick up from the work.

Heavy vibrations from the shoring and sheet piling work is expected for open trench work.

Location and Time of Work:
  • Northside of Taraval Street between 48th-46th Avenue and 40th-36th Avenue.

    Southside of Taraval between 48th-46th Avenue and 45th-37th Avenue.

    Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

  • No construction work on Friday, July 3

Traffic Impacts:

Some parking will be temporarily restricted in construction zones and traffic lanes will be modified during active work.
