Event Summary

The San Francisco Arts Commission will be unveiling a monument to Dr. Maya Angelou at the main branch of the SF Public Library on Thursday, September 19. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include a speaking program, featuring remarks from elected officials, Director of Cultural Affairs Ralph Remington, City Librarian Michael Lambert, and the monument's artist, Lava Thomas. Larkin Street will be closed and Muni will have a minor reroute of the 19 Polk. Details below.

Street Closure

Street closures will be in effect from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

  • Larkin between Grove and Fulton

The inbound 19 Polk will have a small reroute around the closed portion of Larkin Street.
