The roadway is being narrowed from three to two traffic lanes in each direction along the Van Ness Avenue roadway for construction in the median. The lane closures will start at southbound Van Ness at Broadway and northbound at McAllister Street. As work progresses north and south, the lane closures will expand until the roadway is reduced to two lanes in each direction between Lombard and Mission streets.
Those who travel in and through the area are advised to take alternate routes and plan for delays.
NIGHT NOISE NOTICE: Neighbors should anticipate construction noise during the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. from November 28 through December 30. Due to San Francisco's construction holiday moratorium, no construction work is allowed on any "business block" (defined as 50 percent or more linear feet of frontage devoted to business) between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. without the consent of the businesses on that block. While project staff is seeking permission to work during business hours from neighboring businesses, some project work will still need to be completed during nighttime hours. Neighbors on impacted blocks will be notified in advance.
