Construction Forecast: December 30, 2016 - January 13, 2017

Due to the holiday weekend, no construction work will occur Monday, January 2, 2017.

Friday, December 30: Median work on Van Ness from Pine to Sacramento streets.

Tuesday, January 3: Median work on Van Ness from Post to Bush, Jackson to Green, and Filbert to Lombard streets. 

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from Market to Hayes.

Traffic Advisory: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, the following lane closures will be in effect:

  • Curbside lanes on Van Ness northbound from Market to Hayes streets.
  • Median lanes on Van Ness southbound from Market to Hayes streets.

Wednesday, January 4: Median work on Van Ness from Post to Bush, Jackson to Green, and Filbert to Lombard streets. 

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and 5:00 a.m. Thursday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from McAllister to Golden Gate and on McAllister near Van Ness.

Traffic Advisory: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and 5:00 a.m. Thursday, the following lane closures will be in effect:

  • Curbside lanes on Van Ness in both directions from McAllister to Golden Gate streets.

Thursday, January 5: Median work on Van Ness from Broadway to Green streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Thursday and 5:00 a.m. Friday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Sutter near Van Ness.

Friday, January 6: Median work on Van Ness from Broadway to Green streets.

Sunday, January 8: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Sunday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from Post to Bush streets.

Traffic Advisory: Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Sunday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, the following lane closures will be in effect:

  • Median lanes on Van Ness southbound from Post to Bush streets.
  • Curbside lanes on Van Ness in both directions from Post to Bush streets.

Monday, January 9: Median work on Van Ness from Geary to Post, Washington to Pacific and Broadway to Green streets.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Monday and 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from Post to Bush streets.

Traffic Advisory: Overnight Monday, the number of traffic lanes will be reduced from three to two on Van Ness northbound from O'Farrell to Post streets and southbound from Sacramento to Washington streets. Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Monday and 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, the following additional lane closures will be in effect:

  • Median lanes on Van Ness southbound from Post to Bush streets.
  • Curbside lanes on Van Ness in both directions from Post to Bush streets.

Tuesday, January 10: Median work on Van Ness from Ellis to O'Farrell, Geary to Jackson, and Broadway to Green streets. 

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from Post to Bush streets.

Traffic Advisory: Overnight Tuesday, the number of traffic lanes will be reduced from three to two on Van Ness northbound from Eddy to O'Farrell streets and southbound from Pine to Sacramento streets. Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, the following additional lane closures will be in effect:

  • Median lanes on Van Ness southbound from Post to Bush streets.
  • Curbside lanes on Van Ness in both directions from Post to Bush streets.

Wednesday, January 11: Median work on Van Ness from Golden Gate to Eddy, Ellis to O'Farrell, Post to Washington, and Broadway to Filbert streets. 

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and 5:00 a.m. Thursday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Van Ness from Post to Bush streets.

Traffic Advisory: Overnight Wednesday, the number of traffic lanes will be reduced from three to two on Van Ness northbound from Golden Gate to Eddy streets and southbound from Sutter to Pine streets. Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and 5:00 a.m. Thursday, the following additional lane closures will be in effect:

  • Median lanes on Van Ness southbound from Post to Sutter streets.
  • Curbside lanes on Van Ness in both directions from Post to Bush streets.

Thursday, January 12: Median work on Van Ness Avenue from Grove to Eddy, Sutter to Pine, and Broadway to Filbert streets. 

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. Thursday and 5:00 a.m. Friday, the Overhead Contact System that powers the electric buses will be removed on Post near Van Ness.

Traffic Advisory: Overnight Thursday, the number of traffic lanes will be reduced from three to two on Van Ness northbound from Grove to Golden Gate streets and southbound from Geary to Sutter streets.

Friday, January 13: Median work on Van Ness from Hayes to Golden Gate, Post to Sutter, and Broadway to Filbert streets.

Traffic Advisory: Overnight Friday, the number of traffic lanes will be reduced from three to two on Van Ness northbound from Fell to Grove streets and southbound from Ellis to Geary streets.

Those who travel in and through the area are advised to take alternate routes and plan for delays.
