Beginning Friday, June 28, the 19 Polk route’s outbound terminal will return to the stop at Galvez and Robinson avenues, near the 451 Galvez Avenue. This change will return the layover to the location to where the 19 Polk terminated prior to August 2023.

  • For those who currently use the stop at Galvez and Robinson avenues: you may continue to get on and off the 19 Polk at this stop as you currently do. Starting June 28, when the 19 Polk pulls into the Galvez Avenue stop, operators will then take their break (instead of operators waiting at Donahue Street and Innes Avenue to take their break). When the bus departs the Galvez Avenue stop, the 19 Polk will continue inbound toward downtown.
  • For those who currently use the Donahue Street and Innes Avenue stop: you may continue to get on and off the 19 Polk at this stop. Starting June 28, the 19 Polk will no longer hold at this stop as operators take their break. Instead, the bus will continue inbound toward downtown after letting riders on and off at the stop.

In August 2023, the SFMTA moved the 19 Polk’s outbound terminal location to improve the layover location for operators. We are grateful for to OCII for allowing operators to use their restroom facilities and for working to improve the streetlights on Galvez Avenue, which has made this return to the Galvez Avenue terminal location possible.

Note that because this change is happening in advance of planned citywide service changes in August 2024, arrival predictions via NextMuni and third-party apps will be less reliable. This data should be more accurate after this terminal change is reflected in a comprehensive update in June.
