Update: Replacement parking substantially increased
The SFMTA has an important role to play in fostering small business success, and that includes ensuring all customers have access to businesses, whether they are driving, walking, biking or taking transit.
In response to community feedback, we have substantially increased replacement parking on cross streets near Geary Boulevard. This has decreased net parking loss down to 31 spaces along the two-mile project area between Stanyan Street and 34th Avenue, or less than one space per block on average. The new spaces are primarily possible by relocating the 14th/Geary, 21st/Geary, and 28th/Geary bike share stations, as well as some additional cross street locations where angled parking can replace parallel parking on one side of the street.
