In addition to specific requirements established by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure access to public transportation, Muni also has many other polices in place to make travel easier for seniors and people with disabilities. Advisory bodies like the Multimodal Accessibility Advisory Committee and programs like Free Muni for People with Disabilities are just a few examples of how we center people with disabilities in decision-making and programs.
We are proud that the SFMTA's commitment to providing high-quality transit service to older adults and people with disabilities is recognized by our customers. According to Muni customer satisfaction surveys in 2021, 2022 and 2024, providing access for people with disabilities is the attribute that consistently yields the highest satisfaction from riders.
