Percentage of contract amounts awarded to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and Local Business Enterprises (LBEs)

Purpose

Tracking our compliance with the federal DBE and local LBE programs helps to measure our ability to ensure a level playing field and opportunities for small, disadvantaged businesses on our contracts.

Definition

The percentage of contract funding awarded to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises and Local Business Enterprises is determined by the number of contract funding awarded to Business Enterprises and Local Business Enterprises by the total number of contract funding awarded and is reported system-wide.

Methodology

sum ([contract $ awarded to DBEs/LBEs]) ÷ sum ([all contract $ awarded])

Target

Achieve 40% of contracts awarded to LBEs and 15% awarded to DBEs in accordance with Federal guidelines

Quarterly/Annually
