King Substation Improvement Project

Share this:
Project Introduction

The purpose of this project is to upgrade the existing King Substation, located near Oracle Park’s northeast entrance at 2nd Street and King Street, to provide sufficient electrical power for the Muni light rail service. With the new developments and projects in the surrounding area, including Central Subway, and the Warriors Chase Center, the N and T light rail service is expected to increase. By upgrading the electrical distribution circuits and creating spare electrical circuits, the updated substation will increase the electrocity supply to meet the demand.
