As part of the Octavia Boulevard Enhancement Program, SFMTA is advancing a proposal to close one block of Octavia Street - between Linden and Hayes streets - to vehicular traffic to create safer travel conditions around Patricia's Green, Hayes Valley's central gathering space. The project will also provide safety upgrades at Hayes & Octavia and more loading space.
After four years of community engagement and evaluation during temporary closures of Octavia Street - culminating in a well-attended final open house held in June - staff are moving the proposal to the SFMTA Board of Directors for approval on July 16th. This will serve as the Public Hearing for the project and is your opportunity to formally voice your opinions.
