Construction Update

North Beach Utility Relocation

Next Thursday, September 13, the contractor plans to begin installing a sewer manhole within the Central Subway construction zone in North Beach. To accommodate this work, a new traffic configuration will be in place on Columbus Avenue between Union and Powell streets. While manhole installation is underway, the left lane for northbound traffic will be closed during construction hours. The new traffic configuration will not impact traffic on Union Street, and the westbound bus stop at Union and Columbus will return to its regular location.

From Monday to Wednesday (September 10-12), the contractor expects to continue working on underground AT&T lines. The right lane for northbound traffic will be closed during construction hours while this work is in progress.

Should you have questions about construction or the Central Subway Project, don't hesitate to contact our team. You can reach us at central.subway@sfmta.com or by phone at 415-701-4371.

We appreciate your continued patience while construction is in progress.
