Kim-Shree Maufas

Equitable Workforce & Workplace Manager

Kim-Shree Maufas is the Equitable Workforce & Workplace Manager in the Office of Racial Equity & Belonging focusing on program development, implementation, evaluation and reporting of SFMTA’s effort to integrate racial equity into all areas of work at the Agency. She joined SFMTA in February 2022 as an HR Employee & Labor Relations Representative to support union negotiations with our Labor Attorneys and Muni staff. Her experience as the SEIU1021 Field Representative for the SFUSD Classified Staff before and during the initial months of the pandemic helped her negotiate the City’s first COVID-19 hazard pay and bonus stipends side-letter.

Kim-Shree Maufas is a formerly elected Commissioner for the San Francisco Unified School District’s Board of Education. As a Commissioner, Dr. Maufas led SFUSD’s groundbreaking Restorative Justice Resolution and Initiative including the creation of the Restorative Practices’ Infrastructure for District-wide implementation. Additionally, with the SF Superintendent of Schools mandated SFUSD adopt the California UC/CSU “A-G” Course Sequence as a graduation requirement for “all” SFUSD students by 2015. The policy forever changed one of the most inequitable public education systems in the state of California.

Kim-Shree holds a Doctoral Degree from the University of San Francisco in Education and Second Language Acquisition, with TESOL Certification from the UC Berkeley Extension School. Dr. Maufas maintains the strong club, community, and labor relationships that she has cultivated over the years. She spends her free time focused on her family and her one-eyed cat, named Rick-the-Ruler.
