Public Hearing: Geary Boulevard Improvement Project, August 15, 2023

A Public Hearing to take public comment, discuss, and vote on adoption of the below proposed changes on Geary Boulevard, between 34th Avenue and Stanyan Street, will be held at City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, Room 400 as a part of the SFMTA Board of Director’s special meeting. All proposals are in Supervisorial District 1 except Items B, D, F, H, S, T, AA, DD, RR and CCC are also in District 2. The final project proposal includes new transit lanes between 28th and 15th avenues, bus stop changes, traffic signal upgrades, improved crosswalks, left turn restrictions and sidewalk extensions at bus stops and intersection corners. 

The SFMTA Board will be asked to decide whether to:

1. Approve the project and implement all Quick-Build improvements, including transit lanes, around fall 2023 as recommended by staff; or
2. Approve the project but defer implementation of some transit lanes until 2025.
