By Charter, the SFMTA is granted exclusive authority to enter into Collective Bargaining Agreements with its eight bargaining units representing employees in Service-Critical classifications, listed below:

  • Transport Workers Union, Local 250-A (9163)

  • Transport Workers Union, Local 250-A (7410)

  • Transport Workers Union, Local 250-A (9132)

  • Transport Workers Union, Local 200

  • Service Employees International Union, Local 1021

  • International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 6

  • Inaternation Association of Machinists & Automotive Mechanics, Local 1414

  • Municipal Executives Association

In February 2017, the members of SFMTA's eight service-critical bargaining units voted overwhelmingly in favor of approving a two-year extension to the current Collective Bargaining Agreements. Attached also is a Labor Cost Analysis.
