# of Trees: Two (2) Victorian box (Pittosporum undulatum)
Posting Period: (30 days ) From: 3/14/2024 Through: 4/13/2024
As part of the Geary Boulevard Improvement Project, the SFMTA proposes to remove the trees at the above location to facilitate the relocation of a Bay Wheels bike share station. Following a professional arborist assessment, two (2) trees on this site were found to be in need of removal. The two Victorian box trees on 14th Avenue, east side, 50-feet south of Geary Boulevard, are in direct conflict with construction and excavation activities associated with re-locating a bike share station as a part of the project. While efforts have been made to try to retain the trees, no feasible design alternative was found.
A minimum of four (4) new trees are planned to be planted nearby, two Schinus molle and two Prunus serrulata 'Kwanzan'.
