PUBLIC HEARING
FOR PROPOSED PARKING
AND LOADING CHANGES

Pursuant to SFMTA Order No. 6817 adopted October 10, 2024 the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will hold a public hearing to solicit public input on the following proposed changes. Official testimonies can be submitted by email ccp@sfmta.com prior to the hearing.

1. Geary Boulevard between 11th Avenue and 10th Avenue – Establishing a Metered Green Zone, Short-Term Parking
ESTABLISH – METERED GREEN ZONE, SHORT-TERM PARKING, 15-MINUTE LIMIT, 9AM TO 6PM, MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
4644 Geary Boulevard, north side, from 31 feet to 51 feet east of 11th Avenue at meter stall number 4622 (20-foot zone), Richmond, Supervisor District 1, Color Curb Program, ccp@sfmta.com.

Per dispensary request, the green zone will help with customer pick-ups and will help minimize double parking along a high traffic corridor.

2. Columbus Avenue between Filbert Street and Powell Street – Extending the Hours of a Passenger Loading Zone

Per sponsor request this would extend the hours to match the restaurant’s extended business hours.

3. Washington Street between Powell Street and Stockton Street – Changing the Hours of a Passenger Loading Zone

Per the request of the sponsoring church, this would change the hours of an existing passenger loading zone to better meet their needs.

4. Washington Street between Taylor Street and Mason Street – Relocating a Passenger Loading Zone for Daylighting

Per state Assembly Bill 413, intersections must be daylit to provide visibility for pedestrians, therefore the white zone will be relocated to accommodate daylighting. This zone is being relocation to Mason Street by request of the Betty Ann Ong Recreation Center.

5. Powell Street between Post Street and Geary Street – Resizing a Passenger Loading Zone

This proposal is being requested by SFMTA. This proposal replaces 20 feet of an existing passenger loading zone with 20 feet of Tow-Away No Stopping Anytime, to extend the existing southbound right-turn lane on Powell Street at Geary Street. This allows more space/length for vehicles to wait in instead of in the cable car track lane, preventing additional delays and complications to cable car operations and customers. This proposal is also to support San Francisco’s No Turn on Red Downtown Expansion Project for the location of southbound Powell Street at Geary Street, which is expected to increase demand for cars waiting to turn right at times.

6. Ellis Street between Jones Street and Leavenworth Street – Establishing a General Loading Zone

Per a new restaurant request, the passenger loading zone will help with their business as they only offer food for pick-up and delivery.


7. Sutter Street between Laguna Street and Buchanan Street – Changing the Hours of a Passenger Loading Zone

10. Alabama Street between 18th Street and 19th Street – Extending an Existing Passenger Loading Zone

Per SAGE Veterinary's request, the existing passenger loading zone would be extended to provide additional space for client pickups and drop-offs and would help reduce double parking.

11. 22nd Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Indiana Street – Extending Hours for a Passenger Loading Zone

13. Cravath Street at Seven Seas Avenue – Establishing an Accessible Passenger Loading Zone

The proposed loading zone would serve a new residential building on Treasure Island that serves veterans and their families.
