Andrea has worked for the City and County of San Francisco for over fifteen years. She joined the SFMTA in 2016 and currently serves as the SFMTA's Environmental Review Manager in the Streets Division. In that role, her team has been steadfast and reliable in supporting staff from each division with project delivery and SFMTA Board approvals. Prior to joining the SFMTA, Andrea worked as a City Planner at the SF Planning Department.
In addition to building strong teams and developing reliable processes in the planning field, Andrea has devoted countless hours to furthering racial equity and justice in partnership with her colleagues at the SFMTA. In 2017, she completed a year-long training program through the Government Alliance on Racial Equity (GARE), which focused on addressing the complexities of racial equity in the government sector. The following year, Andrea worked on the Streets Division 2018 Diversity and Inclusion Key Initiative project, which established the Streets Equity Action Team; deployed racial equity foundational training for division managers and supervisors; and took the initial steps to develop a Racial Equity Toolkit specific to the SFMTA. She also served on the Project Management team for Phase One of the SFMTA’s Racial Equity Action Plan. Andrea also led the agency’s Latinx affinity group (La Comunidad) from 2021 to 2022 and planned the agency’s first Latinx Heritage Month in partnership with the Black and African American Affinity Group. The heritage month included virtual events such as Culturally Specific Wellness & Self-Care Practices for Latinx Communities and Afro-Latinx Erasure & Colorism within the Latinx Community.
Andrea is honored to support the OREB team in an acting role to continue the critical work needed to achieve our goals outlined in the Racial Equity Plan and other key efforts to ensure we have a workplace that seeks racial equity, elevates diversity, and promotes inclusion & belonging.
