The 16th Street Improvement Project aims to bring better bus service and safer streets to 16th Street between Church and 3rd streets. As part of the project goals to improve bus travel time and reliability, some closely spaced bus stops will be removed.
The project will address transportation needs of current and future residents, workers and visitors to the southeastern portion of the 22 Fillmore route along 1.2 miles of 16th Street. The project also features utility upgrades as well as new trees, sidewalks and bus shelters.
This project, and these changes, are part of Muni Forward, an ongoing initiative to create a safe, reliable and comfortable experience on and off transit.
Additional Muni 2022 Network Service Changes for other routes will also go into effect July 9, 2022.
