The Interactive Projects Map is an online map of transportation plans and projects sponsored by or in partnership with the SFMTA. The map offers a new way to learn about SFMTA projects and explore all of the work we are doing around the city. The map helps us share information about our projects with members of the public, city leaders and our city partners. Below are answers to a few commonly asked questions and how to get in contact with the Interactive Projects Map team to provide specific feedback or submit questions.

What is the Interactive Projects Map?
The Interactive Projects Map is a web-based map of SFMTA plans and projects. It offers a new way to find and learn about SFMTA projects and explore all of the work we are doing in San Francisco.
What projects are included in the Interactive Projects Map?
The map includes projects that are sponsored by or in partnership with the SFMTA. Generally, if there is a project page on the SFMTA Website, then you can find it on the map. Projects included may be in the planning phase, in the construction or implementation phase or maybe recently completed.
How do I access the Interactive Projects Map?
The Interactive Projects Map can be accessed via sfmta.com/projectsmap or through the SFMTA Projects Page, which features an inset map of all SFMTA projects. Click the full-screen icon to visit the full-page map and explore all projects. Each project page also has its own expandable inset map.
When is a project removed from the Interactive Projects Map?
Most projects that are recently completed will remain on the map for at least a year or until the project page is retired. In some cases, bigger projects may remain on the website and on the map longer than a year.
What is the purpose of the Interactive Projects Map?
The map offers another way to search and learn about projects. It also allows you to see other projects nearby. This map will not only help provide information to you, but also the SFMTA Board, Board of Supervisors and other city agencies. The map is also a helpful resource for SFMTA staff who can use the map to coordinate projects to minimize impacts to a community.
Does this map show traffic conditions or temporary street closures?
While many of the projects shown on the Interactive Projects Map may have effects on traffic or street closures, this map is intended to provide a new way to learn about the work being undertaken by the SFMTA, but not to provide up-to-the-minute information about daily traffic conditions. We are looking into providing maps that provide information on temporary street closures and Muni reroutes, until then, we recommend using one of the many apps which track this information.
Will the SFMTA be adding more features to the Interactive Projects Map?
There is always room for improvement. We will continue working on and improving the Interactive Projects Map based on feedback from map users. Please take a moment to take our feedback survey: the Interactive Projects Map Feedback Survey, or you can send specific questions or comments to the Projects Map team at ProjectMap@SFMTA.com. We look forward to adding new features in the future.
Are projects from other agencies such as Public Works, SFPUC or the Planning Department included in the Interactive Projects Map?
The SFMTA collaborates with many city agencies in our work, which is indicated in the Partner Agencies section of each project description. However, projects which are entirely led by other agencies and which do not have project pages on SFMTA.com are not included in the map. In the future, the Interactive Projects Map team is looking for ways to share our data with other agencies and collaborate on this and other mapping initiatives.
I have an idea or a question about the Interactive Projects Map. How can I share it?
