L Taraval Improvement Project
Segment B Update – May 6 - 18, 2024

Work to replace sewer, water and rail lines has been substantially completed. Streetbase work has also recently been completed. Construction continues on installing boarding islands with accessible curb ramps, handrails and pavers.

We have started the curve track replacement work at 46th Avenue and curb-to-curb repaving along the entire corridor.

Curb-to-curb repaving of the entire Taraval corridor started on May 6 and is expected to take approximately three weeks. The paving work will be divided into three segments. The sequence for each segment will start with one full day to grind and repaving will be performed three blocks at a time as follows:

  • Segment 1, week of 5/06/24:
    • Ulloa Street, between 15th and Forest Side
    • 15th and 14th avenues, between Taraval and Ulloa
    • Taraval Street, between 19th and 15th avenues
  • Segment 2, week of 5/13/24:
    • 19th to 22nd avenues
    • 22nd to 25th avenues
    • 25th to 28th avenues
  • Segment 3, week of 5/20/24:
    • 28th to 31st avenues
    • 31st to 33rd avenues
    • 33rd to 37th avenues

During this work, parking will be removed on both sides of the street and traffic detoured around the area. Area residents and merchants have received notifications with details. We are working with the contractor to ensure that parking is released back to the public when work isn’t necessary for construction.

General construction hours are Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Construction schedules are subject to change. “No Parking” signs will be posted in construction and staging areas. Construction teams may be excavating and jackhammering pavement, which may cause vibrations. Dust control and housekeeping measures are in place at active construction and staging locations.
