Event Summary
San Francisco's annual Juneteenth Parade takes place this Saturday, June 8. The parade commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans and celebrates African American culture. The parade will occur on Market Street, heading westbound to Civic Center and City Hall. Muni service will be rerouted in the area of the parade and there will be multiple street closures.

Street Closures
The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic at the specified times:
From 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Staging area
- Market Street from Beale to Steuart
- Steuart Street from Market to Howard,
- Mission Street Intersection Open
- Spear Street from Market to Howard,
- Mission Street Intersection Open
- Main Street from Market to Howard,
- Mission Street Intersection Open
From 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Parade Route and Dispersal Area
- Market Street from 8th to Steuart
- 8th Street from Market to Mission
- Hyde Street from McAllister to Market
- Grove Street from Market to Van Ness
Getting to the Parade
The easiest way to get to the Parade is via the Muni Metro Subway. If you're marching in the Parade, Embarcadero Station is nearest to the formation area. If you're going to watch the Parade, Civic Center, Powell and Montgomery stations are all along the Parade route.

Parade Route
The parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Market & Spear, proceeding west along Market to 8th Street. Vehicles and parade floats will disperse south via 8th Street. Those walking in the parade contingent will disperse onto westbound Grove and northbound Hyde streets.

Muni Service Changes
Several Muni lines and routes will not be able to serve Market Street during the Parade. Many Market Street routes are rerouted to Mission Street. These reroutes will stop at regular stops for the 14 Mission Route between 11th and 1st streets. Some routes will switchback--changing from inbound to outbound--before they reach Market Street.
The table below summarizes the changes by line/route, including when the change starts. Service will return to normal after the streets are clear.
